Batsheva Learning Center’s vision is to create a community for young women that centers around authentic Torah study. We hope to empower women to independently explore Jewish studies on an advanced level and to gain the knowledge and skills to facilitate high level learning for others. This will provide the next generation of female leaders and educators with proficiency and confidence in their Torah learning.
Batsheva Learning Center was spearheaded by a group of young women who felt the void for continuing Jewish education in their community. They started this organization in order to provide women like themselves with the opportunity for in-depth learning that would empower them as future leaders and educators. Their work was inspired by the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s vision for women’s Torah learning, as outlined in a number of his talks. Click here for a link to a translation of the Rebbe’s talk in 1990.
Batsheva Learning Center provides a space for young women to expand their Torah knowledge and develop skills for independent learning. We offer evening courses, lecture series’ and chavrusa learning programs, all geared towards women who share a drive to study and explore all areas of Torah. Our text-based classes include subjects such as Tanach, Midrash, Halacha, Gemara and Chassidus.
Going forward, we hope to create a full-time learning program for students who are committed to a more rigorous educational experience that will train them as future facilitators of high level learning for others.
